OpenAI Build Week is a global hackathon for developers and builders creating with Codex and GPT-5.6. 

Registration is now open. When submissions open on July 13, we'll share the full challenge details, including tracks, prizes, judges, and resources. You'll then have until July 21 at 5:00 PM PT to create and submit your project.

Participate on your own or with a team. Whether you're creating an app, website, agent, game, developer tool, workflow, or something entirely new,  use Codex to build something useful, ambitious, or unexpected—show what’s possible when builders and AI agents work side by side.

• Technological Implementation
  How thoroughly and skillfully does the project use GPT-5.6? Does the code reflect genuine effort and a working, non-trivial implementation?
• Design
  Does the project deliver a working or runnable project that has a complete, coherent product experience — not just a technical proof of concept?
• Potential Impact
  Does the project make a credible, specific case for solving a real problem for a real audience — and does the solution actually address that problem based on what's demonstrated?
• Quality of the Idea
  Is this a creative, non-obvious use of GPT-5.6 — and does the team demonstrate genuine understanding of the problem space they're working in?
